The town of Rockland has an embarrassment of riches. Two well-stocked hamlets, twin fly fishing rivers and plenty of secrets to discover.
With so many dominant hamlets, no one really even mentions Rockland by name. The hamlets include Anderson, Beaverkill, Craigie Clair, De Bruce, Deckertown, Grooville, Hazel, Joscelyn, Livingston Manor, Lew Beach, Morsston, Parkston, Rockland and Roscoe. It's quite a family of destinations!
Where do we go from here?
From Rockland, head to these other towns and their hamlets. Easy direct driving routes. Ask your GPS or get out your map.
Fremont: A great place to shoot clay pigeons.
Neversink: Visit the hamlet of Grahamsville, two covered bridges and check out the mighty Neversink reservoir.
Liberty: Come on over for cute antique shops, the Tractor Supply Store, plus Yiasou Cafe.
Callicoon: Home to Callicoon Center (strike up the band!) and the North Branch Inn.
Delaware County: Head on over to the towns of Colchester and Andes.
Ulster County: Head on over to the town of Hardenburgh for The Beaverkill Valley Inn and some great hikes and drives.
