Three Weeks of Rain

A little rain is great. All this rain is not. Bees don't fly in the rain. And when they don't fly, they don't forage. And when they don't forage, they don't eat. Now, we have been feeding them all along, so they are not starving. But they are bummed out and unmotivated. All the delicious nectar and pollen -- which they certainly prefer over sugar water -- has been washed away. The flowers have hidden themselves, waiting for the sun to reemerge. And when it does, so will the bees. They will have a lot of catch-up to do.

Until then, XOXO Farm Girl
